Gooey Butter Cake Recipe

It's name says it all! Ooey, gooey, sugary heaven is gooey butter cake. It's very rich and tastes great!

– ½ cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled (115 grams; 1 stick) – 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar (250 grams) – 1 large egg room temperature – 1 large egg yolk room temperature – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract – 2 cups all-purpose flour spooned & leveled (250 grams) – 1 tablespoon baking powder – ½ teaspoon salt



Make cake layer: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray or parchment. Mix sugar and melted butter in a large bowl. 


Add egg, yolk, and vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until barely combined. Cookie dough-thick mixture.


Place the dough in the baking pan that has been prepared. Firmly press the dough into a single layer with your hands or the bottom of a measuring cup.
